Chakra Series Blog Manipura
Sat Nam, my friend!!
We’ve been progressing nicely up the chakras and this time we talk about the Solar Plexus ~ Manipura.
“Imagine your third chakra as a fireplace, and the fire itself as your excitement, power, or potential. In order to have a good fire, you need fuel, air, and space. What fuels your fire? Does it have room to breathe? Where does your fire get crowded or snuffed out?”
~ Anodea Judith
🔥Manipura represents the fire within us. I like to think of it as my “ancient power center”…that phrase actually came to me in a dream.
When your body is grounded and your emotions are flowing, your body begins to generate energy and helps you build strength and develop your will. Perhaps that's why it’s called “Will Power”…
This energy, directed by Manipura, propels you down your life path. This power is essential to navigating the more difficult parts of your life’s journey.
Power is the ability to take on tasks and follow through with plans and make what you want happen.
This is the chakra of manifestation! We need to keep in mind, as we create intentions of what we want to bring into our lives, it doesn’t happen with intention alone, we need to take action. Manipura converts metabolic energy into action.
Personal power relies on the strength of your will. Will is created through integration of intention in our consciousness and filters down through the chakras in the form of energy generated by the body's metabolism. If intention and energy are not aligned, the will is weakened and is, metaphorically, steamed off between water and fire or stuck in the mud between water and earth. A healthy Solar Plexus chakra is the director of energy. Where would you like your energy directed towards?
An example of imbalance between intention and will is either having a good intention without the will to follow through or a lot of energy without an intention. Keep tabs on which life circumstances enhance your energy and which ones suppress it, try to avoid the latter. Then form a clear purpose for your will and strengthen it through dedicated and consistent practice.
Perhaps you start a movement regimen, it doesn’t have to be an epic gym workout, just something you know you can commit to and maintain at your own pace. I like Yoga, you may like walking, jogging or swimming laps.
